Artist Bela Silva

London, UK — Willer Gallery, a premier destination for collectors and luxury interior designers, proudly unveils the debut London exhibition of internationally acclaimed Portuguese artist Bela Silva. Known for her multidisciplinary approach, Silva brings her rich cultural narratives to life through vibrant ceramics and
​a range of mixed-media works that blend memory, tradition, and contemporary art.

Silva will present an exciting collection of newly commissioned ceramics at Willer. The exhibition will open on 9 October and run until 31 October.

A Celebrated International Career

Bela Silva’s artistic journey spans some of the world’s most esteemed institutions. She studied at the School of Fine Arts in Porto and Lisbon, Ar.Co, Norwich School of Art, and the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been exhibited globally—including prestigious venues like the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, the National Museum of Ancient Art in Lisbon, and Villa Tamaris in France.

Her public art installations include striking tile panels at Lisbon’s Alvalade metro station, the Sakai Cultural Center in Japan, and João de Deus School in the Azores. On the commercial side, Silva has collaborated with renowned brands such as Hermès, Tiffany & Co., Serax, Vista Alegre, and Ginori 1735, with whom she launched a porcelain collection in Paris in 2021.

Bridging Art, Architecture and Culture

Silva is best known for her expressive ceramics and her ability to weave art into architectural spaces. Her work is rooted in local stories, traditions, and the natural world—infused with a Portuguese sensibility and a distinctly modern flair. Living and working between Lisbon, Belgium, and Paris, her creations reflect a diversity of cultural influences shaped by her travels.

Using vibrant palettes and traditional motifs reinterpreted through a contemporary lens, Silva creates pieces that resonate with both personal and communal identity. This exhibition brings together her passion for multicultural storytelling, natural beauty, and innovative design.

The pieces I have created for this exhibition are born from those treasured memories and inspired by my recent travels in England and Kenya.”
