PRESS RELEASE
September 2026
NEW YORK – Design at Work New York, the new exhibition and conference dedicated to workplace design and commercial interiors, announces a prestigious group of leading international brands that have joined its inaugural edition at the Javits Center March 10-11, 2027.
The group of impressive participants includes Arper, Carnegie, Davis Furniture, Eames Office, Expormim, Framery, Garden on the Wall, Impact Acoustic, James Burleigh, Kettal, KFI Studios, Mute Design and Swatchbox.
Italian design brand Arper has joined Design at Work New York as a Founding Partner and Furnishing Partner for The Manhattan Lounge, bringing its distinctly life-centered approach to the show. Founded in 1989 in Monastier di Treviso, Italy, Arper has grown from a family-owned furniture manufacturer into an international design brand creating furniture and spatial solutions for workplace, hospitality, education, residential and public environments worldwide.
Arper's '(RE)CONNECTING' theme explores how spaces can bring people back to what matters, nurturing deeper relationships with one another, with the communities we belong to and with the planet we share. At Design at Work New York, this thinking will take physical form in The Manhattan Lounge, where Arper will create a dedicated setting for conversation, connection and the exchange of ideas, reflecting the growing influence of informal and hospitality-inspired spaces within the contemporary workplace.
Kettal and the Eames Office will present the research and development behind the Eames Pavilion System, bringing together Charles and Ray Eames’ architectural thinking with Kettal’s expertise in modular construction and manufacturing.
First unveiled at Triennale Milano during Milan Design Week 2026, the system grew from extensive study of the Eameses’ built and unbuilt residential projects. In close collaboration with the Eames Office, Kettal has developed those principles into a fully engineered construction system for contemporary use. Repeatable structural modules and interchangeable components allow configurations ranging from compact pavilions to two-story houses, with applications across residential, hospitality and workplace settings. At Design at Work, both teams will discuss how the collaboration moved from archival research to an adaptable system for living and working today.
“Charles and Ray Eames approached a house as a system that could evolve with its occupants. That idea feels especially relevant to architects designing workplaces today, where the uses of a space may change long before the building does. The Eames Pavilion System is a reflection of these principles, and an opportunity to discuss what flexibility means in practice, and how a space can adapt while retaining its architectural character.” — Antonio Navarro, Creative Director, Kettal
Design at Work New York is also delighted that Carnegie joins as Design at Work’s Textiles & Wallcovering Founding Partner, bringing strong ties to the New York design community and a longstanding reputation for innovation and sustainability. Known for highly specifiable solutions across upholstery, textiles, acoustics and wallcoverings, the brand is perhaps best recognized for Xorel, its pioneering bio-based, PVC- and finish-free material, which combines environmental responsibility with high performance. Design-led and deeply engaged in industry education, Carnegie is a natural partner in supporting the sustainability and design conversations at the heart of the show.
Family-owned Davis Furniture is also part of Design at Work New York. The long-established company has been creating contemporary contract furniture since 1944, growing from a small upholstery repair shop in High Point, North Carolina, into an internationally recognised manufacturer with a global customer base. Now led by the third generation of the Davis family, the company is known for combining strong aesthetics with functionality, engineering and craftsmanship, collaborating with leading international designers to create distinctive furniture for the evolving workplace. Sustainability is also central to its approach, with Davis committed to reducing its environmental impact across its products, processes and manufacturing.
The new exhibitors add further depth to a growing line-up spanning furniture, acoustics, workplace technology, biophilic design, materials and architectural systems. Arper brings its people-focused approach to contemporary furniture; Expormim combines Spanish design heritage with furniture solutions for contemporary spaces; Framery brings its expertise in acoustic pods and smart workplace solutions; Impact Acoustic brings circular acoustic solutions; Garden on the Wall specializes in maintenance-free biophilic design; and James Burleigh brings British-crafted furniture for commercial interiors.
Together, the latest additions reinforce Design at Work New York’s ambition to create a focused platform for the architects, interior designers, workplace strategists, developers, dealers and corporate decision-makers shaping the future of the workplace.
Marlon Cera-Marle, Director, Design Division at Media 10, comments:
“The response from the international design community has been incredibly encouraging, and this latest group of exhibitors demonstrates the breadth of what we want Design at Work New York to represent. From furniture and acoustics to biophilic design and architectural systems, these are brands responding to the changing ways people work and the environments they need to support them.
“The addition of Kettal and The Eames Office is particularly exciting. The Eames Pavilion System is a fascinating example of how ideas developed decades ago around modularity, prefabrication and human-scale living can inform the spaces we create today. It speaks directly to the kind of forward-thinking design conversation we want to bring to New York.”
Strategic and professional partnerships
Alongside the exhibition, Design at Work New York is building a program of professional learning and industry discussion through strategic partnerships with leading design organizations. These collaborations are intended to connect product discovery on the show floor with topical conversations around the issues shaping workplaces now and in the future, adding practical value for architects, interior designers, workplace strategists and other decision-makers attending the event.
AIA New York has already been announced as a Founding Strategic Partner. The partnership is designed to champion design excellence, professional learning and industry collaboration, with AIA New York playing an integral role in shaping the event’s education programme and bringing leading voices from architecture and workplace design together to explore the ideas, challenges and innovations transforming the built environment. It will also create opportunities for meaningful connection between architects, designers, manufacturers, developers and workplace leaders.
Design at Work New York is also developing programming with IIDA New York around three complementary strands. Content will include a session examining circularity in practice through adaptive reuse and innovative sustainable materials; a more cultural discussion will explore the circular economy and its relationship to design and workplace culture; and a hands-on workshop linked to the Workplace of the Future exhibit will provide an opportunity to explore materiality with guidance from industry experts and design leaders.
The talks programme, curated by SANDOW DESIGN GROUP, will further bring together industry experts to discuss the forces changing commercial interiors, with conversations expected to span innovation, sustainability, neurodiversity and circularity, creating an editorially driven forum for debate alongside the exhibition.
Design at Work New York will combine this programme of talks, panels, education and networking with a curated exhibition designed specifically for the workplace design and commercial interiors community. The event will bring together international and North American brands with architects, interior designers, workplace strategists, dealers, developers and end-user decision-makers for two days of product discovery, professional learning and industry connection.
The event’s Founding Steering Committee includes Kay Sargent of HOK, Kerrie Kelly of Kerrie Kelly Studio, AJ Paron of SANDOW DESIGN GROUP, Harsha Kotak of Women in Office Design and Sustainable Design Collective, Primo Orpilla and Grace Eun of Studio O+A, Amanda Schneider of ThinkLab, Matthew J. De Geeter Founder & Chief Strategist
De Geeter Co, and Joe Doucet of Joe Doucet x Partners.
Design at Work New York takes place at the Javits Center, New York, March 10–11, 2027.
